Te Korowai Aroha O Aotearoa (TKAA)
Project Mauri Ora is about to embark on a new and exciting stage in their efforts to reduce whanua (family) violence throughout New Zealand as selections for the next five pilot site are finalized. The ten module training curriculum continues to be used effectively by experienced trainers as they meet with practitioners in the four initial project sites. Most of the initial evaluation work concerning methodology and data collection instrument development has been completed. ITI staff is now receiving evaluation data from the initial project sites. At this time, Project Mauri Ora staff may submit most of the data required for the evaluation online via the ITI website.

At this time, we invite you to fill out the registration form to receive your username and password to begin utilizing the Mauri Ora Project evaluation forms and surveys. You may access this registration form by going to “Projects” and then to “Te Korowai Aroha o Aotearoa.” On this webpage, you will see the “Resources” box. There you can simply click on the registration form. This form will ask for the information listed below:

1. Name
2. Project Site
3. Title
4. Email address

Once you have sent information, we will send you your username and password to begin utilizing the Mauri Ora Project evaluation website.

Experience Corp-DC (ECDC)
EC/DC adds an interesting component to mentoring by pairing youth with senior adults as a mentor. EC/DC is a non-profit organization based in the historic U street region of Washington DC aimed at addressing the needs of at-risk youth. This project is tailored for young African American males and strives to pairs these youth with senior retired professional African American males to serve as a positive role model. EC/DC has contracted with ITI to evaluate the effectiveness of this program design and mentoring intervention.

Mi Amigo Mi Maestro (MAMM)
La Puesta del Sol responds to the needs of a unique group of at-risk youth. La Puesta del Sol is one of just a few social service agencies in Hildalgo County. This remote rural area has been experiencing an influx of immigrants from Mexico settling in this region. One growing need is services for youth who are adjusting to the new culture and changes in family dynamics. In response, La Puesta del Sol has created the Mi Amigo Mi Maestro mentoring program that is aimed at reducing the dropout rates and delinquency behaviors of Hispanic youth. La Puesta del Sol has contracted with ITI to evaluate the program’s effectiveness in reducing juvenile delinquency and improving academic performance.
